Taunton Marathon 11th April 2010
Email: tauntonmarathon@btinternet.com
Start Time: 10:30 AM
Race Distance: Marathon
Surface/route/setting: Road
Acceptable entry forms: Race's own entry form - available by post and/or the race website
Summary:
The half marathon course is one lap, the full marathon course is two laps. Both races start and finish at the Somerset College of Arts and Technology (SCAT), Wellington Road, Taunton.

From SCAT the route is through the main streets of Taunton out into the Somerset countryside on the B3227 through Norton Fitzwarren, turning south through Oake and Bradford-on-Tone, then back to SCAT on the A38. The course is undulating with hills at 11 and 22 miles.

All full marathon runners are directed straight on when they reach SCAT unless they indicate at the end of their first lap that they are unable to complete the full distance when, if they wish, they may finish at the half stage.

There are eight water and sponge stations along the route and frequent marshal points. Medical back-up is provided by the St John Ambulance.
