Lunchtime workouts for every fitness level
Lunchtime is a great time in the day to do something fit and it is often wasted on lounging around or a quick bit of shopping or generally wasted time even working during your lunchtime. We see it as a great window of time that you can benefit from and it doesn’t eat into anything else.
So some great options for a decent lunchtime workout could be.
Walking
A brisk lunchtime ‘walkout’ is really good for you, just make sure you walk continuously for around 30 minutes, so take the long way to the sandwich shop or pub. Maybe you just walk 15 minutes from your work place then turnaround and walk back.
Swimming
If you are lucky enough to have a swimming pool near you then this surely must be on your list, a good pool will not only help providing great all over exercise but it will also allow you to shower and tidy up afterward. Top tip here though is don’t eat beforehand you don’t want anything unexpectantly appearing!
Running
This is a difficult one if you don’t have facilities in your workplace to shower or freshen up afterwards you don’t want your work mates moving away from you in the afternoon, or maybe you do! The time issue here is to get a 20 to 30 minute run in you need to stretch before and after then freshen up, so why not add endurance into your run and go uphill, then back down then run up again. Or you could just go for stairs, if you are in a big office block or one with lots of stairs pump it up. Either way try and max this one out.
Cycling
If you have bike racks outside your work place then why not take your bike to work and go on a nice brisk bike ride, nothing quite beats a 30/40 minute cycle. Don’t forget your bike hat and safety gear and then enjoy.
So in summary surely something here is good for your lunchtime workout and why not mix it up you don’t have to always swim on a Thursday!
